Dyslexia Aware School
St Andrew's is certified as a Dyslexia Aware school.
Over the last few years we have been working hard to put lots of strategies in place to help pupils who are dyslexic or for pupils who find writing/reading difficult. We have been assessed by the Dyslexia Aware Consortium and they have certified that St Andrews' School is a Dyslexia Aware School.
Following our assessment we received the following from one of the team members:
First of all Emma and I would like to pass on our congratulations to you all once again on achieving the accreditation. We are both very proud of you and everyone in St Andrew’s school, it is a fantastic achievement and you have all worked so hard!!!
Dave, Emma and I felt that Dyslexia Awareness is now embedded across the whole school. Classrooms look amazing!
We felt that this was a strong part of the school ethos. You are living it and breathing it!!
We were impressed with the parents and staff interviewed who were fantastic ambassadors for DAQ and the benefits it has brought to the whole learning community!
We were also impressed by the pupils and the books we were presented with. The books live it and the students breathe it!
